COVID-19 and Flu Vaccinations for the 2026/2027 Season

COVID-19 Vaccination

For the 2026/2027 season, we have the updated Comirnaty XFG 30 vaccine available for people aged 12 and older. (We recommend that children under 12 get vaccinated at specialized vaccination centers; we’d be happy to help you schedule an appointment.)

The next dose of this vaccine can be administered no sooner than 3 months after the previous COVID-19 vaccination.

September and October are the ideal months for a COVID-19 booster shot, before the onset of the fall respiratory illness season.

Flu Vaccination

The ideal time to get a flu vaccine is between October and December. Protection develops approximately 10 to 14 days after vaccination and lasts throughout the flu season, which in the Czech Republic most often occurs between January and March.

The Efluelda vaccine, intended for people over 60 years of age, will be available on time, and we are ready to administer vaccinations at all our locations starting in October.

The Vaxigrip vaccine, intended for people aged 6 months to 60 years, will not be delivered until approximately mid-November this year. The manufacturer cites the late inclusion of the latest identified variant of candidate strain B in this year’s vaccine as the reason for the delay.

The Fluenz vaccine, intended for people aged 2 to 18 years, will also be available; it is administered via a spray into each nostril and offers a non-injection option for vaccination.

Can vaccinations be combined?

Yes. For practical reasons, at Health+ we recommend waiting at least 14 days between vaccinations.  This allows for better monitoring of any post-vaccination reactions and also provides enough time for an immune response to develop. However, it is also possible to receive both vaccines on the same day.

Therefore, the ideal schedule might be:

·       September through October: COVID-19 vaccination

·       October through December: flu vaccination

Those interested in getting vaccinated against COVID-19 can make an appointment now.
Those interested in the Efluelda flu vaccine (for people 60 and older) can book an appointment now; we recommend getting vaccinated starting in the second half of October.
Those aged 6 months to 60 years who are interested in getting a flu vaccine can reserve their vaccine now.

The injectable Vaxigrip vaccine will be available, as well as the non-injectable Fluenz option for those aged 2–18. Once the vaccines are in stock, we will actively contact those interested and work with you to arrange the most suitable vaccination date.
